Serial Interface is up, line protocol down
Two router connect through PCM line (70 Kms from one end to another end), loopback is perfect after testing) using Altrie converter at both ends and converter shows ok (Poweron and Syn). Serial encapsulation at both end is HDLC, I am using Cisco (switches 2950) and (routers 2621xm). I am sure that one end is working fine because when i divert and connect the line which is giving problem to a different and shorter distance with the same types of media, hardware and configuration, network is 100 ok.
I wonder if someone would tell me the problem. whether it’s the distance or whatever? If so how plz help me to solve the probs.

Run a debug and see what is missing.

make sure each side is sending syncs
also try encapsulation PPP on the serial ling to remove anything HDLC may be adding. Post your configs
