Can i use a HDMI to DVI converter to plug my PS3 into my monitor?
I have a acer LCD monitor and i am currently running the resolution 1280×1024. Its 19 inches i think across… Anyways there is 3 slots in the back, a power slot, a VGA input and a DVI input. Can i use a HDMI to DVI converter and plug the HDMI into my ps3 and the DVI to my monitor? If so what resolution would it support and is it worth the 19 bucks?
The PS3 is very picky about what monitor it will work with. In particular, most monitors that are not HDCP-compliant won’t work with the PS3.
Your Acer is probably NOT an HDCP-compliant monitor (old 5:4-aspect screens usually are not). You can try a DVI-to-HDMI adapter (which can be had for less than $5 on Amazon), but I doubt it will work.
