How can i view files on an IDE hard drive w/ XP installed using a SATA mobo w/ Vista installed?
I recently purchased an IDE 100/133 to Serial SATA adapter converter. After connecting my older IDE hard drive to my new mobo (w/ serial SATA connectors) using the converter, i was hoping my computer would automatically recognized the HDD. It didn’t. IDE hard drive is connected as slave and has power to it. What am i missing? or What do i need to get the job done?
Slave to what? you don’t have a master. Try changing the jumper to Cable Select. BTW doesn’t your MOBO have a Ide connection?
