Female Coupler
internet connection / cat 5 question?
I am looking to hook my nintendo WII uponline, I do not have a wireless router and plan to hook it up directly to my ethernet cable from my router , here is my question.
I am at the end of about probaly 75 feet of cat 5 cable between me and the router I am hooked up to, to get the wii hooked up online, I would need to put a 25 foot cat 5 cable onto the 75 foot one with a female / female coupler, then I would need to put on another 6 foot patch cord with another female / female coupler.
my question is 2 fold, will the extra length slow down the connection too much to be able to get the wii online, and how much will using 2 female / female couplers mess up the connection? would I bet better getting another 50 foot cable and just using 1 female / female coupler?

The cable length will slow down the connection. It’s known as attenuation in nerdy circles.
My suggestion is to buy a repeater. Cheap and it will repeat the signal creating a stronger signal at the end. It also means you can use (2) shorter cables saving a dollar or two.
And no couplers required.
